Ero. Ileflin : An incident occurred in the neighborhood of a protracted meeting; held by Rev. J. M. Gunn, as- ' sisted by Rev. lhos. Nicholson and v . t:io suojecL ul mis uuin-c, na'a uceii deeply wrought on for some months. But had enjoyed the privilege but once previous to this meeting ot presentm. herself at the mourners bench. Neither did sue tnen enjoy tno privilege, lor sdio was eotnnelled to stav at home and .. f J j nurse a sick mother. On Tuesday the j preachers left, and Bro. Gunn before: leaving, visited this afilicted family. j Ater having spoken -words of comfort to j the afflicted mother, he turned to the Father, also an invalid, and faithfully warned him to flee the wrath to come, and make sure work for Leaven. lie ! then gave the daughter words of encour- i agement. and found, I doubt not, to his surprise, that she was more exercised ; about the saivation oi l:cr lather and brothers than her own. Bro. Gunn then calied to prayer, and if the reader is aeouatnted with the man, lie may guess WOl'ld During this time the daughter was greatly engaged in her father and broth- evs behalf; and she received such a powerful manifestation of the pow er and love of God, that she was enabled to rejoice and give thanks to I113 holy name. Then comes a scene which t have not language to describe. The Mother though bowed down with disease, trouble and the weight of years was happy, and blessed God that her race was so near run. The Father weeping, I trust, the tears of penitence, and the uaugnter on ner knees Delore j him, pleading with him to be reconciled ! to God. Truly tnis was a raemng scene. Many happy expressions fell from her lips l" might say, from her heart, (the following being a specimen) " O Father how can I give you up to leave this world, till you do better Won't you quit saying bad words, and try to "meet me in Heaven.
